Talent Show and Tri-Tip Dinner is February 11, 2012 (Saturday)
Now's your chance to share your talent at the Palermo Community Council's 17th Annual Talent Show. Grand Prize is $100, with $50 1st Place Division Prizes, plus other prizes and awards. Entry fee is only $5.00 per person and anyone can join 5-years old and up.
The Entry Form and entry fee are due Friday, January 31, 2012 and should be mailed to: Palermo Community Council, P.O. Box 293, Palermo, CA 95968.

Donate through the Annie B's Community Drive to Increase Your Impact!August 1 - September 30, 2011 is the best time to donate to the Palermo Community Council! Donations made from August 1 to September 3o will be proportionally matched by the North Valley Community Fund (NVCF). Funds raised for the Palermo Community Council will be used towards continuing the Palermo Community Festival and supporting facilitites (including utilities and insurance) for the Palermo south Butte County substation. This increases the safety for our community - including our children, homes, neighbors and local businesses.

The Palermo Community Council is looking for vendors, exhibitors, and car show participants for the Palermo Community Festival on September 10, 2011. Forms can be downloaded from http://www.palermocommunity.net/festival. Submissions are due August 26, 2010.
Vendors, individuals, and local businesses are invited to get a booth space at this event and connect with our community. Have a car or motorcycle you'd like to show off? Be a part of the Car Show. Questions can be forwarded to palermocommunity@yahoo.com or call (530) 534-6565.

Butte County Fire and Police Chiefs would like to challange Butte County teens ages 16-19 to apply to Butte County's 4th annual Fire And Safety Training camp. This camp is designed for teenagers who would like to participate in hands-on activities aimed at empowering and building confidence through personal experience.
Local firefighters and police officers will challenge, encourage, mentor, support, and guide campers through 6 days of team building, problem solving, and physical activities. Campers will be educated in fire safety, rescue, law enforcement and EMS skills. In addition campers will complete certification in CPR & Basic First Aid.

The Butte County Board of Supervisors and the Palermo Community Association, with assistance from Lumos & Associates are starting the preparation of a preliminary engineering report to evaluate different alternatives for wastewater treatment and disposal for the Palermo Community. Depending on the findings, this report may be used to apply for funding for wastewater upgrades in the Palermo Community.
A second community workshop is being planned that will allow the community to participate in the preparation of the preliminary engineering report. Information regarding the community's preferred alternatives collected during the first community workshop on December 16, 2009 will also be reviewd.
This workshop is a very important step in providing a baseline for our community, we hope to see you there. More information is online at www.palermoprojects.com

The Palermo Fire Station has equipment to make reflective signs that post your address. Go by the Palermo Fire Station at 2290 Palermo Road (or the Palermo Post Office) to pick up an "Address Sign Order Form". For a donation of only $15, you can obtain a reflective address sign to post near your driveway or home.
